Sourcing from Guangdong Province: Electronics and e-Commerce Consumer Goods

Guangdong is in the south of China. In 2022 Guangdong Province had approximately 70,700 industrial enterprises above a designated size, making it the center of China’s manufacturing industry. It’s no wonder Gaia Sourcing’s headquarters sits in the heart of it! Some of the cities dominate various sectors like electronics, garments, and home goods. We may be a little bias because the Gaia Sourcing team are located and mainly operate from Shenzhen in Guangdong province, but there are many more reasons why we have placed Guangdong Province as number one on our Manufacturing in China City Guide.
Shenzhen – Consumer electronics and tech!
Shenzhen is ideal for companies sourcing smart devices, IoT gadgets, and mobile accessories. Shenzhen is known to be China’s “Silicone Valley” and is home to China’s leading tech companies and start-ups. With a robust supplier network, it’s the go-to city for innovative electronics.

If you’re a fashion designer and looking to source fabrics for literally any piece of apparel that you can think of, this is the place to be. When walking around the market, take a moment to think that… every mini-stall is a shopfront for an entire factory. Guangzhou is also where the world famous bi-annual China Import and Export Fair (also known as the Canton Fair) takes place. This is one of the largest trade events in the world and highly recommended for anyone who is looking to observe the market for their particular industry.
Dongguan – injection moulding and
Known for its high-precision manufacturing and injection molding, Dongguan is a key player in the electronics and footwear industries. Many big-name companies are based here, such as Huawei, Lenovo, Foxconn, Samsung, LG, Siemens, ABB, Midea, OPPO, Vivo.
Foshan – Furniture and big car factories!
Specializing in furniture, ceramics, and home appliances, Foshan is the go-to for anyone looking to source home and living products.
